Model Overview
The Wrangler has been redesigned for 2007, with a stiffer frame, revised suspension, a new engine, and fresh styling. The all-new real jeep is longer and wider and more refined. Now powered by a 3.8-litre V6, with a manual or automatic, it still offers low-range gearing and off-road capability. In 2011, the interior was redesigned completely, with a new dashboard and door panels, while body-coloured exterior plastic trim and roof were offered. It also offers more ground clearance, more wheel articulation and some new suspension hardware. For the first time, the Wrangler offers an optional electronic-disconnecting front stabiliser bar. This Active Sway Bar System allows more front-wheel travel over obstacles. Also available is the Command-Trac part-time four-wheel-drive system. A Trak-Lok limited slip differential and Rock-Trac with special off-road tyres also are available. Comfort features include power windows, CD/MP3 stereo, and even a voice-controlled 'UConnect' Bluetooth telecom system. Safety includes stability control, ABS brakes, front airbags and seat-mounted side-airbags. It can be equipped with a new three-piece hardtop with removable panels. Also available is a Sunrider soft top with a sunroof feature. The dealer also offers a huge catalogue of original offroad accessories, such as lift kits, metal bumpers, monster tyres and the like, which can get quite expensive if every add-on is chosen.
