Common hard-working people desire to own a car with a decent amount of interior space, fuel economy, reliability and adequate performance, all for a reasonable price. The all-new Tiida arrives as an unofficial replacement to the Sunny in Nissan's lineup. The fact that it's partly based on the Renault Megane, a European stalwart, means you get some Euro driving dynamics alongside traditional Japanese reliability. It is pleasantly surprising how big the Tiida feels inside. There is good head room and even tall passengers will find rear seat legroom as good as that in many much larger cars. Available as a five-door hatchback or a four-door sedan, the Tiida is available with either a 1.6-litre or a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, with manual or automatic transmissions. Standard features include electric power steering, tilt steering column, 60/40 split folding rear seats, air conditioning with micro filter and a CD stereo system. Safety features include front airbags and ABS brakes. Power accessories are optional. The Tiida received a minor facelift for the 2009 model year, as Nissan made available a "sport" body kit option. Other new available features include cruise control, 6-CD changer, MP3 capability, IPod-ready AUX input, a 6-speaker audio system, fully automated air-conditioning and a trip computer.
